Michael Rice is the director of Joy in Piano. Between China, the United Kingdom, and his home country of the United States, he has been teaching private and group piano lessons for more than twenty years. In addition, he has served as lead clinician for Piano Adventures in China, with more than two thousand teachers from all over China attending his training sessions.
In the past, Michael has served as a faculty member of the Groton Hill Music Center and the Monument Square Community Music School. Previously, he was the piano accompanist for the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and a number of other local schools. Michael has experience as a classroom music teacher, early childhood music and movement teacher, organist/ choir director, and theater music director. Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Anna Maria College, and his principal piano instructors include Dr. Robert Goepfert and Mark Marquis.
